'The Colonels' has been chosen by many proud families of future brides and grooms to become their most elegant, romantic and comfortable home base during these important days of their life. A lasting memory to be cherished for many years to come.

One of the premier wedding facilities in the greater Athens area, the Day Chapel of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia♠, is only four miles, one traffic light and an idyllic drive away from “The Colonels” which makes our Inn ideal for lodging a wedding party. Other renowned wedding venues are at a mere 15-25 minutes distance (Athens Country Club, Classic Center, Georgia Club).

We can offer a package of 7 bedrooms with breakfasts for 3 nights at the price of $2,960 plus taxes.
This is our most economical arrangement for 14 registered guests not including extras.

This offer would provide exclusive and private use of the entire upper floor of the mansion, including the Jacuzzi bath room.

It also includes the State Room (as a possible bridal suite), pre-arranged use of first floor, the two antique dining rooms and the grand music room.

If guests would like to host a small private reception, we can offer the use of the intimate and distinguished atmosphere of the sunken flower garden for an additional charge of $300 (includes rear porch area, if desired).

We can also add a 'wedding-party preparation accommodation' and 'photo opportunity shooting venue' to your package for an average charge of $200 (This option is already included in full rental contacts).

In-Residence Executive Sedan or Van service can also be arranged as part of your package.

The Colonels was able to acquire the two historic Foster's Wedding Chandeliers when in 2009 the Foster's Jewelers business on 283 E. Clayton St definitively closed its doors.

For over 50 years, Foster’s had been a downtown Athens mainstay since the 1950s that generation after generation turned to for jewelry and special gifts.

Quite often, families returned to Foster’s telling stories to their children of how they were proposed to with Foster’s jewelry or the special gift they picked up in the store after graduating from high school or the University of Georgia.

For more than half a century of new couples Foster's also borrowed and installed the Wedding Chandeliers as a special blessing on the table of honor.

We are proud to be able now to carry on the Athens’ tradition and embellish and enlighten your table with this piece of local history and nostalgia.
